While its always important to read the ingredients of the skincare products you are applying to your skin, it shouldn't require a PHD. So here's the quick and "dirty" of the three dreaded ingredients that have been deemed "safe" by the FDA but may still have ill effects and potential health risks.

PARABENS ending in "-paraben"

Say goodbye to parabens! These synthetic compounds have been lurking in your skincare products for years, but they could be wreaking havoc on your health. Studies suggest that parabens may mess with your hormones and even potentially increase your risk of cancer. While the evidence isn't crystal clear, it's better to be safe than sorry. Keep an eye out for ingredients like sodium methylparaben, propyl

paraben, and butylparaben on your labels and avoid them whenever possible. Your hormones will thank you!

SULFATES ending in "-ate"

Sulfates have no room in your skincare routine! While they may create that satisfying lather and squeaky-clean feeling, sulfates can actually be harsh on your skin. These degreasers may remove sebum and dirt, but they also strip away your skin's natural oils, leading to irritation and dryness.

If you have sensitive skin, be on the lookout for sulfates. They can cause redness and even worsen acne, especially when left on the skin for too long. To avoid any unwanted reactions, make sure to rinse off products with sulfates right away. Your skin will thank you!

ETHANOLAMINES "-DEA, TEA, MEA

Discover the hidden dangers lurking in your skincare products! Ethanolamine,

such as DEA, TEA, and MEA, can wreak havoc on your health. These chemicals have been linked to cancer, bacterial superbugs, liver damage, and hormonal disruptions. But that's not all - they can also accumulate in your kidneys and liver, causing organ toxicity and even neurotoxic effects.

GOOD NEWS

But don't worry, there's a solution! Instead of risking your health with these harmful chemicals, why not embrace the power of natural alternatives? Aloe vera, coconut oil, and shea butter are fantastic options that provide hydration without the risk of irritating your skin or causing health issues. Plus, they're often more affordable than products containing ethanolamine, a win-win in my book.

Take good care of your skin by being mindful of the ingredients in your skincare products. Steer clear of harmful substances like parabens, mineral oils, artificial preservatives, and synthetic fragrances. Instead, opt for products that prioritize your well-being without compromising on effectiveness.

Trust reputable brands that have been 3rd party tested have also stood the test of time like EVER & NEORA brand skincare products. Make thoughtful choices for healthy and radiant skin. And of of course, you're not sure, let's chat! Together we will figure out the best products for your skin that don't have the potential to harm your health!
